At Picart, we remain committed to ensuring a safe and prepared work environment for any situation. That’s why we organized an intensive first aid training session for our operators and administrative staff, in collaboration with VITALY, experts in occupational health and safety.
This training not only strengthens our safety policies but also reinforces our commitment to employee well-being and the ability to respond effectively to workplace emergencies.
Key Aspects of the First Aid Course
During the training, our employees learned and practiced essential emergency response skills through a theoretical-practical approach, including realistic simulations. Some of the key topics covered were:
• Basic Life Support (BLS): Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) techniques and the survival chain, with hands-on CPR practice for adults.
• Airway Obstruction: Heimlich maneuver for choking emergencies.
• Musculoskeletal Injuries: Methods to immobilize and treat sprains, strains, and fractures.
• Polytrauma and Burns: Assessment and stabilization of multiple injuries, as well as immediate burn care.
• Wounds and First Aid Kit Essentials: Proper wound treatment and the importance of maintaining a well-stocked, organized first aid kit.
• Asthma Attacks, Hypoglycemia, and AED Use: Recognition and management of respiratory and metabolic crises, along with the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED).
Learning to Protect
One of the most valuable aspects of this training was the simulated exercises, designed to recreate real-life scenarios where employees could apply their knowledge in a hands-on setting. This practical approach ensures our team is better prepared to act quickly and effectively in the event of an emergency.
Additionally, the training served as an excellent opportunity to strengthen teamwork and communication across different departments, which are key elements for an organized and effective emergency response.
