Picart wants to surprise your dog with wet food made from unusual ingredients

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text css=””]Recently, we introduced to the market our new Select wet food line. An update that offers more specific recipes, defined in 8 flavour varieties, and surprises with ingredients that are uncommon in the bowls of our furry friends, such as wild boar or duck, which provide an intense and appetizing taste.

For dogs, maintaining a varied diet is not essential as long as their nutrition is complete and balanced. However, enriching their meals with new flavours brings added benefits, as it enhances the animal’s experience, stimulates their appetite, and diversifies nutrient sources without losing the balance that every canine nutritional strategy must guarantee.

The new Picart Select wet food fulfils this function with a minimalist formulation. Following the same philosophy as our Select Dog dry food range, the recipes incorporate few ingredients, but carefully selected to meet the full needs of each animal profile, from puppies to dogs with sensitive stomachs or those who never refuse a mountain adventure.

Select cans contain between 70% and 75% meat or fish as the main source of protein, complemented with 10% to 15% fruits and vegetables and enriched with salmon oil, which provides Omega-3 fatty acids beneficial for skin, coat, and overall well-being.

With no colourants, artificial flavours, cereals, salt, or added sugars, the measured formulation of Picart cans results in clean, natural, and easy-to-digest recipes. It also translates into transparency. “It’s not just about showing the ingredients on the label,” explains Joan Icart, CEO of Picart, “but about being clear throughout the whole production process and every decision we make,” he adds.

Starting from the formulation, Picart’s nutritionists and veterinarians sought to achieve a soft and appetizing texture, with small visible pieces that bring naturalness and nutrients. They chose steam cooking, “because it avoids significant losses of vitamins and minerals and thus preserves the nutritional value of the ingredients,” Icart notes. This preparation technique also maintains the original texture and flavour of meat, fish, and vegetables while promoting digestibility.

Select wet food can be the sole basis of a dog’s diet or combined with dry food, as each variant offers different nuances, unique ingredients and flavours, and distinct nutritional profiles.

For Picart’s CEO, the company’s recent launches reflect the current sensitivity of dog and cat owners. “They increasingly seek transparency in composition, natural recipes, and formats that provide variety and flavour without compromising nutritional balance,” he states. In this sense, the culinary proposal of Picart cans makes the meal enjoyable and appetizing, turning wet food — traditionally associated with special occasions — into a daily option.
